This is the Lion Monument in Luzern. It looks so delicate, yet it is carved out of solid rock. It commemorates the Swiss soldiers who died while protecting the King of France in the French Revolution.
Here I am, in front of the Bern Bear Fountain and the old clock tower. Bern is a very charming historic town and also the capital of Switzerland. 
This is the Château de Chillon castle, just outside of Lausanne. It dates back to the year 1150 and is very well preserved since it was never attacked in battle.We were VERY lucky to get a flight out of Geneva before Switzerland closed it's airspace due to the volcano eruption in Iceland. Most of Europe is still "grounded" as of today.
